Program Overview
The Widows’ Endowment Fund is an empowerment initiative by the KD Royal Gate Foundation created to support widows who are willing and ready to rebuild their lives through honest work. We believe that, with the right support and opportunity, a widow can gain the confidence and resources needed to provide for herself and her family.
Through this program, we provide partial financial assistance to help widows either start a small trade or acquire a practical skill that can become a source of sustainable income.
Our Approach
We focus on giving support that goes beyond immediate relief by helping beneficiaries build something they can continue to benefit from.
- Needs Assessment:
We identify widows who are genuinely interested in becoming financially independent and assess their circumstances, abilities, and areas where support would be most useful. - Start-Up Support:
Where appropriate, the Foundation provides partial funding to help a beneficiary start or strengthen a small trade or business. This could include support for basic equipment, materials, or initial working capital. - Skills Development:
For widows who prefer to learn a trade, we support them in accessing practical training that can equip them with a skill they can use to earn a living. - Encouragement and Follow-Up:
Our support does not end when the assistance is provided. Where possible, we maintain contact with beneficiaries, offering encouragement and checking on their progress as they work toward becoming more self-reliant.
Our Goal
Our goal is to help widows move from dependence to opportunity, giving them practical support to earn an income, care for their families, and regain confidence in their ability to build a better future.
We may not be able to meet every need, but through the Widows’ Endowment Fund, we can help provide a meaningful start—one widow, one skill, and one opportunity at a time.
